Dartmoor popular as poll shows 10% never visited national park | Western Morning News:

Why is the 10% figure "staggering"? This is an elitist concept, the poor and ethnic minorities don't have the opportunity or the desire to see a piece of England which is no different to any other piece of countryside.

Scyscraper turbines set to be thrown out on Anglesey - Wales Online

Scyscraper turbines set to be thrown out on Anglesey - Wales Online: "The West Coast Energy scheme at Bryn Eryr Uchaf – near Menai Bridge, on the southeastern end of the island – is deemed unsuitable because of the impact on an “area of outstanding natural beauty” and the “nationally important landscape of Snowdonia”."

Yet Wylfa does both and can be seen from Snowdon and the Mountains of Maughan. How about putting some turbines on top of the new reactors?

New Chapter for Snowdonia

New Chapter for Snowdonia: "National Parks contribute to the wellbeing of our communities, the economy,"

"National Parks contribute to the wellbeing of our communities, the economy"

I don't believe they do, their remit has a built-in conflict of interest which has been shown time and again.

Calls for Wales to follow Lake District moves with restrictions on second homes - Wales Online

Calls for Wales to follow Lake District moves with restrictions on second homes - Wales Online: "A spokesman for the Welsh Government, which runs planning policy here, said: “The system is about the use and development of land and does not distinguish between individual applicants or users.

“It is not equipped to monitor who lives in houses nor for how long they reside there, which would make the enforcement of any attempt to regulate second homes through the planning system extremely difficult.”"

Take a look at Ysgubor at Llandanwg near Harlech in the Snowdonia National Park, the owner paid £100,000 for the derelict barn BEFORE obtaining planning permission for an unrestricted dwelling and a holiday let.

Would you pay that sort of money for a pile of rubble? Should it have a local occupancy restriction?

Guess who owns that magnificent dwelling that overlooks Llanbedr airfield, you know, the place where the WG has been trying to create jobs for many years and is now an Enterprise Zone.
